Lower TTC Fares
Scarborough Transit Action believes in Fare Justice.
Fare Justice means:
Lower TTC fares, especially for Wheel Trans, the Fair Fare Pass, seniors and students
Permanently ending fare enforcements which disproportionately affect low-income and racialized riders
Increasing Presto card accessibility by offering cards at multiple and convenient locations across Scarborough
Increasing the TTC fare transfer in the inner suburbs from 2 hours to 3 hours
Free transfers between TTC buses and GO Train stations in Scarborough while the Scarborough subway is being built
Our Fare Justice advocacy has had real and tangible benefits for transit riders across Toronto.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Scarborough Transit Action organizer, Austin Jaffri lead a change.org campaign, Refund March TTC Metropass Holders due to Covid-19, that lead to over 200,000 TTC monthly Metropass users getting a rebate for March 18-31 and April 1-30! Austin’s advocacy and leadership put money back in the pockets of Torontonians during the pandemic.
