Founded in 2011, Scarborough Transit Action is a coalition of  grass roots transit advocacy organizations and volunteers demanding transit fairness for Scarborough. Our membership comes from community associations, non-profit groups and individual volunteers. We call on the City of Toronto, the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada, particularly Scarborough’s 18 elected representatives to fund and build a rapid transit network for Scarborough that connects our neighbourhoods to one another and the rest of City. Our goals are:

  • Building an affordable, frequent, safe and accessible rapid transit network that brings rapid transit to Scarborough’s diverse neighbourhoods

  • Bringing rapid transit to Scarborough’s priority neighbourhoods, post-secondary campuses and Malvern

  • Improving bus and Wheel Trans service for Scarborough residents

  • Lowering TTC fares

  • Allowing free transfers between TTC buses and GO Train stations in Scarborough until the Scarborough subway is built

  • Increasing TTC transfer times from two to three hours in the inner suburbs

  • Keeping the TTC publicly owned, operated and maintained

  • Advocating for low-carbon transit solutions like electric buses

Scarborough residents can't afford to waste ten more years waiting for a single subway line. We are part of Toronto, pay taxes and deserve access to rapid transit like everyone else. We need rapid transit now.

Join us in our call for building a rapid transit network that connects ALL of Scarborough!
